Prototype made for the GMTK 2025 Game Jam.

The main idea was to use the jam as an opportunity to develop a new skill. This time, I decided to open Blender for the first time, create a model, rig it, and make animations, then import everything into Unity and get it working in-game.

Life Steps is a prototype inspired by Pierre Bourdieu’s concept of social determinism, which suggests that life is largely shaped by luck and the environment you are born into. These initial conditions strongly limit your opportunities and potential.

In the game, the player takes on the role of different characters, each born with different starting conditions. Their goal is to climb an infinite staircase, seeing how far they can go with the characteristics they were given at birth.
